"Domino Design", a 1950s design originally created by Margot de Taxco, in Taxco's golden era. It is a flawless reproduction created by master silversmith, Melesio Rodriquez, who was with Margot for 24 years. He owns many of her original molds, like this one, and has reproduced many of her wonderful designs in his taller, Melesio Villarreal. Margot's design numbers from the molds are on every piece produced. This is a totally unique design and has never been copied by another designer in Taxco. It is done in .950 silver, a higher content than sterling and finished with a champleve enamel. See William Spratling and the Silver Renaissance by Penny Morrill, page 81 for an excellent photo of the original set. The necklace measures 16 1/2" by 1 1/8" and the post earrings are 1 1/4" by 1" for a total of 191 grams. See the matching bracelet in our bracelet category. This is a collectible set that you will treasure always. (note: the newer design now features a silver ball on the back of the earrings posts instead of an oxidized design, click to see a photo).
