Hector Aguilar Maguey Design   $1,059.00 CS1609   "Maguey" design, an original Hector Aguilar design of 1940. This is one of the most spectacular sets that Mexican Silver Designs has had the good fortune to acquire. It is a design that set the "moda" for many designs to follow in the successful Taller Borda during Taxco's golden era. It was an intricate design with unusual forms and pre-Columbian artwork. For the first time different combinations of work were combined giving the eye an aestheticaly pleasing flow. There has been no better known design than Hector's "Maguey'. It has been flawless reproduced by master Taxco silversmith, Jose Luis Flores with utmost attention to every detail. For many years he worked with Hector at Taller Borda and has made this set numerous times. He has followed the original design to the letter, even including a pin closure for the bracelet. This is a once in a lifetime set to own and to add to your collection of Taxco silver. The necklace is 17 1/2" by 1 1/2", the bracelet 7 1/2" by 1 1/4", and the post earrings are 1 1/8 by 7/8" with a total weight of 185 grams.
