Los Castillo Pretty Parrot   $169.00 CN1631   "Pretty Parrot" sterling silver necklace, a 1955 design originally from the Los Castillo taller of Taxco in the golden era. It is a combination of metals and stone including copper, brass, malachite and onyx. This type of look is called "marrying" the metals and is difficult, intricate work. Not many silversmiths have the training or experience in this type of work. It is a wonderful version of the "Cubist" design of the famous Parrot from the 1950s. It is a delight to wear and the pendant/brooch is removeable from the sterling V necklace. The necklace has a clasp for added security. You will find yourself wearing this piece often as it goes with everything. The necklace measures 17", and the pendant/brooch is 1 5/8" by 1 5/8".
